The Medical Society of the County of Ulster is a non-profit, voluntary membership, professional organization that represents the interests of physicians who practice medicine in Ulster County. One of over 60 county medical societies within New York State, our organization was instituted in 1806 "for the purpose of regulating the practice of Physic and Surgery". Today our membership is over 150 members strong, with a clear and concise mission.
- Extend medical knowledge and advance medical science
- Elevate the standards of medical education
- Secure the enactment of just medical and health laws
- Promote friendly intercourse among members of the Society and fellow physicians
- Safeguard the professional and economic integrity of Society members
- Maintain the Society members in appropriate and equitable relations with the public and with all agencies working in the fields of health and welfare
- Enlighten and direct public opinion in regardto the problems of medicine
